RTC-3-X Run Time Converter™ (Transmitter Optional)
The RTC-3-X monitors, calculates, and decodes run time of a furnace, fan coil unit, baseboard heat, or other equipment with electric controls. The RTC-3-X stores partial cycle until the next operating period in non-volatile memory and adds it to the next cycle to prevent losses of accountable time. The RTC-3-X contains enough space for installing an Inovonics Echostream transmitter within the enclosure eliminating a messy two device installation. It also contains an interface for verification of heating presence in the monitored equipment.
LED signals provide verification of operation and supervision.
The RTC-3-X is normally powered from the monitored devices.
Description:
The RTC-3-X is a microprocessor controlled timing device used to convert the time duration of a intermittent running device to a pulsed output which can be metered by a variety of data gathering devices from various manufacturers. A SPDT relay with dry, isolated contacts provides a two second pulse every 60 seconds of run time.
When a thermostat or other control closes the metered valve or other device, the RTC run-time converter will pulse its on-board relay. The relay output connects to a digital pulse counting transmitter which wirelessly transmits the count data hourly to a remote data collecting receiver.
The RTC-3-X is powered either from the device being monitored, or an auxiliary power supply.
