A 30-second pre-purge cycle thoroughly clears the combustion chamber of residual gases before every ignition attempt, reducing the risk of unsafe startup conditions. The selectable trial-for-ignition (TFI) timing — 10 or 15 seconds — provides flexibility for pilot or main flame establishment across a range of burner configurations.
