Description
Weil McLain OEM Air Pressure Switch
The Weil McLain 511-624-542 is a factory-specified air pressure switch designed as a direct OEM replacement for compatible Weil McLain boiler systems. Engineered to monitor combustion air pressure and confirm proper draft inducer operation, this switch is a critical safety component that helps prevent unsafe burner ignition when adequate airflow is not established.
Key Features
- OEM Weil McLain replacement part — ensures precise fit and function
- Set point: 1.53″ w.c. (inches water column)
- SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switching action for reliable circuit control
- Monitors combustion air/draft inducer pressure to verify safe operating conditions
- Helps prevent burner lockout issues caused by pressure switch failure
- Designed for direct drop-in replacement on applicable Weil McLain boiler models
How It Works
The air pressure switch senses the negative pressure (draft) created by the inducer blower during boiler operation. When the inducer establishes sufficient airflow — reaching the 1.53″ w.c. threshold — the SPDT switch closes, signaling the control board to proceed with ignition. If adequate pressure is not detected, the switch remains open, locking out ignition as a safety measure.
Application
- Compatible with select Weil McLain gas-fired boiler models — verify your boiler’s parts list or service manual before ordering
- Ideal for service technicians performing preventive maintenance or troubleshooting pressure switch faults
