Description
The Lennox 88K30 is an OEM defrost thermostat and sensor engineered for precise defrost cycle management in Lennox heat pump systems. With a 70°F cut-in and 42°F cut-out temperature setpoint, this component ensures the defrost cycle initiates and terminates at the correct coil temperatures — protecting system efficiency and preventing ice buildup on the outdoor unit.
Product Overview
Designed as a direct OEM replacement for compatible Lennox heat pump equipment, the 88K30 defrost thermostat/sensor monitors outdoor coil temperature and signals the defrost control board to activate or terminate the defrost cycle. Proper defrost operation is critical to maintaining heat pump heating capacity and preventing compressor damage caused by ice-locked coils.

Why Replace Your Defrost Thermostat?
A faulty defrost thermostat can cause a heat pump to run continuous defrost cycles, fail to defrost at all, or ice over the outdoor coil — all of which reduce efficiency and can lead to compressor failure. Replacing the 88K30 with a genuine Lennox OEM part restores proper defrost timing and protects the overall system investment.
