Description
The BRK / First Alert CO9B10D is a carbon monoxide alarm featuring a backlit digital display for visual confirmation of CO levels, along with a 10-year sealed lithium power cell that requires no battery replacements for the life of the alarm. The tamperproof battery design does not allow the power cell to be removed. The unit uses an electrochemical CO sensor and is capable of self-restoring after an alarm event. A digital display shows CO levels when in alarm, peak CO memory, room temperature, and other operating conditions, and the alarm can be wall-mounted or placed on a tabletop (3 ft. height or less) using the included mounting hardware. A test/silence button allows users to check all alarm functions and silence nuisance alarms electronically by simulating a CO condition. The CO sensor is calibrated to avoid false alarms at low ambient CO levels while responding at established thresholds — alarming within 4–15 minutes at 400 PPM, 10–50 minutes at 150 PPM, and 60–240 minutes at 70 PPM. The alarm resets automatically once CO levels clear. An end-of-life warning causes the unit to chirp when it reaches the end of its service life, with temporary silencing available for up to two days before the signal resumes; after about two to three weeks, the signal cannot be silenced. The CO9B10D meets UL 2034, NFPA 72, and NFPA 101 requirements. Installation must conform to NFPA 72 and local building codes; refer to the user’s manual for proper alarm placement guidance.
