Defrost Control Boards
Defrost control boards help monitor the sensors that are responsible for testing ice buildup on a unit. If activated, defrost mode then melts the ice that forms on components. It’s normal to see light ice buildup on units in the wintertime, but if you start to notice heavy frost your defrost controller could need attention. Control outdoor equipment, compressor contactor, reversing valve, and outdoor fans with a defrost controller. Controllers respond to thermostat requests and air and coil temperatures.
