Description
The Aaon P63290 is a 250°F manual reset (M/R) rollout switch designed as an OEM replacement safety component for Aaon heating and HVAC equipment. Rollout switches serve as a critical line of defense against dangerous flame rollout conditions — detecting abnormal heat levels outside the combustion chamber and immediately shutting down the burner to protect equipment and occupants.
How It Works
When burner flames roll out beyond the heat exchanger due to blockages, restricted airflow, or heat exchanger failure, the rollout switch senses the elevated temperature at its mounting location. Once the ambient temperature at the switch reaches the 250°F trip point, the switch opens the control circuit and locks out the burner. Because this is a manual reset device, the switch must be physically reset by a qualified technician after the root cause has been identified and corrected — preventing the system from restarting until it is safe to do so.
