Description
The Armstrong Furnace R102613-02 is an OEM replacement 2-stage pressure switch engineered for use in Armstrong Furnace systems. This dual-setpoint pressure switch monitors the negative pressure generated by the inducer motor to verify safe combustion airflow before allowing ignition to proceed — a critical safety function in modern gas furnaces.
Key Features
- Dual-stage operation with setpoints of 1.00″ W.C. and 0.45″ W.C.
- Monitors inducer motor draft pressure to ensure safe furnace operation
- OEM replacement part designed specifically for compatible Armstrong Furnace equipment
- Prevents ignition if adequate combustion airflow is not confirmed
- Reliable diaphragm-actuated switching mechanism for long service life
- Direct drop-in replacement for simplified installation
How It Works
The pressure switch senses the negative (vacuum) pressure created by the draft inducer blower. On a 2-stage furnace, two separate pressure thresholds — 1.00″ W.C. for high-fire and 0.45″ W.C. for low-fire — must be satisfied before the control board will energize the gas valve and ignition system. If either setpoint is not reached, the switch remains open and the furnace will not fire, protecting against unsafe combustion conditions.
Application
- Designed for Armstrong Furnace 2-stage gas furnace models
- Replaces failed or out-of-tolerance OEM pressure switches
- Suitable for residential forced-air heating systems
