Description

The Braeburn 8500 is a universal wireless thermostat kit supporting heat pump systems up to 3 heat/2 cool and conventional systems up to 2 heat/2 cool. The kit uses Braeburn’s BlueLink wireless technology to communicate between the battery-operated thermostat and a control module installed at the HVAC equipment, eliminating the need to run new thermostat wiring in most installations. The thermostat features a large 4.4 sq. in. backlit display, with 7-day, 5-2 day, or non-programmable scheduling options, auto or manual changeover, and residential or commercial mode settings. It is compatible with 2- or 3-wire hydronic zone systems and includes an auxiliary heat fossil fuel option, programmable fan control, adjustable temperature limits, and multi-level keypad lockout. R and C terminals allow for optional 24-volt operation.

On the wireless side, the system includes a return air sensor at the control module to maintain default temperature control even if the thermostat’s batteries are drained. Up to four optional wireless indoor sensors can be connected for remote temperature sensing in different zones, and an optional wireless outdoor sensor supports outdoor temperature display or balance point control. This flexibility makes the 8500 a practical, affordable solution for a wide range of thermostat replacement applications, including systems previously using select Honeywell®, Emerson®, and Pro1® thermostats.
