Description
The Carrier EA660020 is an OEM thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) engineered to deliver precise refrigerant flow control in Carrier cooling and heat pump systems. By accurately metering refrigerant into the evaporator coil, this TXV helps maintain optimal superheat levels, protecting the compressor and maximizing system efficiency across a wide range of operating conditions.
How a TXV Works
A thermostatic expansion valve responds to both the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant leaving the evaporator. As load conditions change, the valve automatically adjusts refrigerant flow to maintain a consistent superheat set point — preventing liquid refrigerant from reaching the compressor while ensuring the evaporator coil is fully utilized for maximum heat transfer.
