The Daikin 4MXM36AVJU9 is a 3-ton (36,000 BTU nominal) outdoor heat pump condenser from Daikin’s standard-efficiency MXM multi-zone line, delivering roughly 34,200 BTU cooling and 34,600 BTU heating capacity. It supports two to four independently-controlled indoor units from a single outdoor unit, with a combined connected indoor capacity of up to 48,000 BTU — letting you mix indoor unit types (wall-mounted, concealed duct, floor-mounted, or ceiling cassette, depending on your specific combination) to fit different rooms.
At the core is a high-efficiency inverter-driven swing compressor that continuously adjusts output to match demand, delivering up to 20.6 SEER2 and 9.5–9.7 HSPF2 efficiency (figures vary slightly by source and specific indoor unit combination). The system runs on R-32 refrigerant and operates across a cooling range of 14°F to 115°F and a heating range of 5°F to 60°F — this standard-efficiency MXM platform does not include the extended cold-climate rating found on Aurora-branded MXT models.
The outdoor cabinet (29-1/2″ H x 34-1/4″ W x 12-5/8″ D, 150 lb) uses anti-corrosion treatment on the heat exchanger for long-term durability, and the drain pan design offers strong drainage to reduce ice buildup. The unit is ENERGY STAR Certified and compatible with the Daikin Cloud Wi-Fi Adaptor for remote comfort control from a phone or tablet.
