The Daikin 4MXTH36AVJU9 is a 3-ton (36,000 BTU nominal), 4-zone outdoor heat pump condenser from Daikin’s Aurora Enhanced Capacity, cold-climate line, delivering approximately 34,400 BTU cooling and 33,200 BTU heating capacity. It supports two to four independently-controlled indoor units from a single outdoor unit, with a combined connected capacity of up to 48,000 BTU.
At the core is a high-efficiency, inverter-driven swing compressor that continuously adjusts output to match demand, delivering up to 20.0 SEER2, 12.0 EER2, and 9.5 HSPF2 efficiency. The system runs on R-32 refrigerant, and Enhanced Capacity engineering maintains 100% heating capacity at -13°F and full cooling capacity at 115°F — heating operates across a range of -13°F to 60°F, and cooling from 14°F to 115°F. A factory-installed drain pan heater — built into this model — supports reliable cold-climate drainage without needing a separate accessory (unlike the standard-drain-pan 4MXT36AVJU9).
The outdoor cabinet uses anti-corrosion treatment on the heat exchanger for long-term durability, with a specialized drain pan design engineered for improved cold-climate drainage, and the unit is pre-charged for up to 131 feet of piping.
