Description
The Daikin FTA is a SkyAir multi-position ducted air handler built for single-zone Daikin heat pump systems, offering flexible upflow, downflow, or horizontal installation to fit a variety of mechanical room layouts. Available in multiple tonnages, with an optional factory-installed disconnect switch (D-model) for simplified installation and servicing.
The all-aluminum coil delivers strong heat transfer efficiency and long-term durability while keeping cabinet air leakage under 2% for maximum system efficiency. External static pressure support up to 0.9 in. w.g. gives contractors room to run longer duct runs or add accessories without sacrificing airflow, and an optional outside air integration kit is available where ventilation compliance is required. A built-in refrigerant leak detection system adds a layer of safety monitoring, and anti-corrosion treatment on internal components extends service life in demanding environments.
The factory-installed disconnect switch option (D-model) eliminates the need for a separately field-installed disconnect, saving install time and simplifying code compliance in jurisdictions that require one at the air handler.
Note: this is an indoor unit only — it requires a matched Daikin SkyAir RZA_AAVJU outdoor condenser of the same tonnage to form a complete, functioning system, and cannot operate standalone.
