Description

The Goodman ACST is a ceiling-mounted air handler built for spaces where a traditional closet or attic air handler location isn’t practical — apartments, condos, mobile homes, and light commercial applications with a dropped-ceiling installation. Available in multiple tonnages and electric heat kit sizes to match the cooling load and supplemental heating needs of the space.

The all-aluminum tube/aluminum fin coil resists corrosion better than traditional copper-aluminum designs, and a factory-installed, fully adjustable thermal expansion valve (TXV) ships on every unit for precise refrigerant metering — no separate metering device to source or install. The direct-drive, resilient-mounted multi-speed motor is quiet in operation, and the coil includes a factory-installed R-32 sensor built to last the life of the unit.

Electric heat elements are available factory-installed in 5, 6, 8, or 10 kW capacities, using sequence-controlled, rust-resistant nickel chromium heating elements for supplemental heat where a gas furnace isn’t part of the system. The unit is suitable for free-return (non-ducted return air) installation and supports configurable front or bottom return for all tonnages, with a factory-installed pull-type disconnect for simplified electrical servicing.

The galvanized-steel cabinet keeps cabinet air leakage under 2% (1.4% at the lower ASHRAE test pressure) and includes a primary/secondary drain connection in a high-temperature plastic drain pan for added protection against water damage. Louvered ceiling access panels (CAP-2/2L for ACST18, CAP-3/3L for ACST24/30) are available as separate accessories for finished-ceiling installations.

All models are AHRI certified and ETL listed. Made in the USA and backed by Goodman’s 10-year limited parts warranty when registered online within 60 days of installation (registration requirements vary by state).
