The Goodman CAPTA is a cased, all-aluminum AlumaFin7™ evaporator coil for upflow or downflow applications, available in 1.5 to 5-ton sizes with multiple cabinet width options to fit different furnace or air handler cabinets at the same tonnage. It’s designed for use with Goodman gas furnaces, split system air conditioners, heat pumps, and modular two-piece blowers.

At the core is a factory-installed thermal expansion valve (TXV) for precise refrigerant metering in both cooling and heat pump applications, suited to high-performance matched systems. The all-aluminum construction — sine fins, grooved tubes, tubing, fins, and end plates in one metal — maximizes surface area and heat transfer efficiency, and a factory-installed R-32 sensor is designed for the lifespan of the coil. Every coil is pressure-tested twice before leaving the factory.

The compact 21″ depth eases installation in attic spaces, with a single front access panel for straightforward service, and foil-faced insulation covers the internal casing to reduce cabinet condensation. A rust-resistant, UV-resistant, DecaBDE-free thermoplastic drain pan features a low water-retention design with secondary drain connections, and drain pan rails allow coils to be removed and repositioned with ease. The cabinet has a galvanized, leather grain-embossed finish.

This product is designed for use with A2L (R-32) appliances only, and is not for use in R-410A system installation or repair — a refrigerant leak detection kit (Model 0230K00044) may be required when paired with a non-A2L furnace.
