Description
The Goodman MBVC1601AA-1 is a 1,600 CFM variable-speed modular blower — a “blower-only” unit with no built-in coil — rated to match up to a 3.5 to 4-ton system. Its two-piece modular design works with a separately-purchased Goodman cased “A” coil (CAPF/CHPF series) and outdoor condensing unit or heat pump, and can be configured for vertical or horizontal installation.
At the core is a variable-speed ECM blower motor that provides constant CFM across a wide range of static pressure conditions independent of the duct system, delivering improved humidity and comfort control while adjusting precisely to keep temperature stable. The unit is ready for multi-stage heating and cooling applications out of the box, and the blower section can double as an electric heater with a field-installed 3 kW to 21 kW heat kit (sold separately — this base unit ships without one).
The unit is compatible with ComfortNet™ communicating equipment, with advanced auto-configuration of airflow and tonnage in communicating mode, a CFM indicator, and fault recall of the six most recent faults. Commissioning and diagnostics run through the onboard Bluetooth connection using the CoolCloud™ phone and tablet app. The 21″ W x 21″ D x 30″ H cabinet uses embossing for enhanced durability, foil-faced insulation glued in place to reduce sound and cabinet condensation, and bottom flanges formed inward for additional strength and a solid mounting surface for the cased-coil section.
Runs on 208/230V, 15A, 3/4 hp, single-phase power. Backed by a 10-year parts limited warranty when registered online within 60 days of installation, following state and local codes.
