Description

The Goodman MBVK is a modular blower — a "blower-only" air handler with no built-in evaporator coil — available in 1 to 5-ton airflow capacities, designed to be paired with a separately-purchased Goodman "A" coil (or compatible field-installed coil) for a fully custom-built system. Its two-piece modular design speeds up installation and adapts easily to upflow, downflow, or horizontal airflow applications.

At the core is a variable-speed ECM blower motor that provides constant CFM across a wide range of static pressure conditions independent of the duct system, delivering more precise airflow and improved humidity control than a fixed-speed motor while using less energy. The unit is ready for multi-stage heating and cooling applications out of the box, with a control board that includes a blower time-delay in cooling mode.

This air handler features integrated communicating technology, compatible with Goodman or Daikin One+ smart thermostats and other communicating equipment, with advanced auto-configuration of airflow and tonnage in communicating mode, a CFM indicator, and fault recall of the six most recent faults. Built-in dehumidification and adjustable low-CFM settings support efficient fan-only operation.

The embossed cabinet is designed for improved durability, with foil-faced insulation to reduce noise and condensation levels. The unit is compatible with R-410A and R-32 refrigerant, with an integration kit required for R-32 compatibility, and electric heat kits are sold separately.
