By hydraulically separating the boiler or chiller loop from the distribution loop, this device eliminates unwanted flow interactions between circuits, ensuring stable pressure differentials and consistent flow rates throughout the system.
How It Works
The hydraulic separator acts as a low-velocity zone where primary and secondary circuits meet. This low-velocity chamber allows differential pressures between the two loops to equalize, preventing the primary pump from interfering with secondary zone pumps — and vice versa. The result is a more efficient, balanced hydronic system with reduced wear on all circulating pumps.
