How It Works
The pressure switch monitors the negative pressure (vacuum) created by the draft inducer motor. When the inducer reaches the correct operating speed and generates sufficient negative pressure, the switch closes and signals the control board to continue the ignition sequence. If the required pressure is not achieved — indicating a blocked flue, failed inducer, or other issue — the switch remains open, safely locking out ignition.
