Description
The Lennox 75W15 is an OEM replacement high limit switch designed to protect furnaces from dangerous overheating conditions. Identified by the model designation L165-30F, this limit switch is engineered to open the control circuit when heat exchanger temperatures reach unsafe levels, shutting down the burner and preventing equipment damage or fire hazard.
How It Works
The L165-30F designation indicates this switch opens at 165°F and features a 30°F differential, meaning it automatically resets once temperatures drop back to approximately 135°F. This automatic reset functionality restores normal furnace operation once safe temperature conditions are re-established — no manual intervention required under normal circumstances.
Key Features
- OEM Lennox replacement part — SKU 75W15
- Model designation: L165-30F
- Opens at 165°F to interrupt burner operation during overtemperature events
- 30°F differential — automatically resets at approximately 135°F
- Provides critical overheat protection for the heat exchanger and furnace cabinet
- Designed for direct OEM replacement in compatible Lennox furnace models
- Helps maintain system safety, efficiency, and longevity
Application
This limit switch is a critical safety component in gas and electric furnace systems. When airflow is restricted — due to a dirty filter, blocked return, or failed blower — heat builds up inside the furnace cabinet. The L165-30F detects this rise in temperature and interrupts the heating cycle before damage occurs. Proper function of this switch is essential to safe furnace operation.
Why Choose OEM Replacement Parts?
Using genuine Lennox replacement components like the 75W15 ensures proper fit, calibration, and performance. Aftermarket substitutes may not meet the precise temperature ratings required for safe and reliable operation in your specific Lennox system.
