Description
The Nordyne 1017676R is an OEM replacement pressure switch engineered for use in Nordyne heating systems. This dual-setting pressure switch monitors the negative pressure generated by the draft inducer to verify proper venting before allowing ignition to proceed — a critical safety function in modern gas furnaces.
How It Works
The pressure switch senses the suction created by the inducer blower. When adequate negative pressure is confirmed, the switch closes and signals the control board to continue the ignition sequence. If the required pressure is not achieved — due to a blocked flue, failed inducer motor, or venting issue — the switch remains open, locking out ignition and protecting the heat exchanger and home from hazardous conditions.
