Description
The Nordyne 632624 is an OEM replacement SPST (Single-Pole, Single-Throw) pressure switch engineered for precise draft and combustion airflow monitoring in Nordyne-family heating systems. Designed to open or close a circuit at a calibrated set point of -0.70″ water column (wc), this switch helps safeguard the heat exchanger and venting system by verifying that the inducer blower is producing adequate negative pressure before allowing ignition to proceed.
Key Features
- Set point: -0.70″ water column (wc)
- Switch type: SPST (Single-Pole, Single-Throw)
- Port connection: 1/4″ barb fitting for easy hose attachment
- Direct OEM replacement for compatible Nordyne furnace models
- Helps prevent unsafe furnace operation due to blocked flue or inducer failure
How It Works
The pressure switch monitors the negative pressure (vacuum) created by the draft inducer motor. When the inducer reaches the correct operating speed, the resulting negative pressure exceeds the -0.70″ wc set point, causing the SPST switch contacts to change state and signal the furnace control board to continue the ignition sequence. If proper pressure is not achieved — indicating a blocked vent, failed inducer, or cracked pressure hose — the switch remains open, locking out ignition and protecting the system.
Application
- Compatible with select Nordyne gas furnace models
- Ideal for HVAC technicians performing OEM-quality repairs
- Verify compatibility with your specific furnace model number before ordering
Why Choose OEM Replacement Parts?
