Description
The Nordyne 689988R is an OEM replacement inducer motor gasket engineered to maintain a proper airtight seal between the inducer motor assembly and the furnace heat exchanger or collector box. A correctly seated inducer motor gasket is critical for safe furnace operation — it prevents combustion gas leakage, maintains proper draft pressure, and protects surrounding components from heat and exhaust byproducts.
Product Overview
Designed as a direct OEM replacement for compatible Nordyne furnace models, the 689988R gasket delivers a precise fit that eliminates the guesswork of aftermarket alternatives. Replacing a worn, cracked, or deteriorated inducer motor gasket restores system integrity and helps avoid costly diagnostic calls or safety shutdowns caused by pressure switch faults and flue gas leaks.

Why Replace Your Inducer Motor Gasket?
Over time, inducer motor gaskets can degrade due to repeated thermal cycling, vibration, and exposure to combustion byproducts. A failed gasket can trigger nuisance pressure switch lockouts, allow flue gases to enter the living space, or cause visible soot deposits around the inducer housing. Replacing the gasket with a genuine Nordyne part restores safe, efficient operation and extends the life of the inducer assembly.
