Description
The Safe-T-Switch SS3 is a condensate overflow float switch that detects rising water in A/C drain pans and shuts down the system before overflow causes water damage. It installs on primary or auxiliary drain pans and is one of the most commonly specified float switches in residential and light commercial HVAC — simple to install, reliable in the field, and wide enough in compatibility to cover most drain pan configurations.
The bracket mounts firmly over the edge of most drain pans with a slim profile that fits 1″ to 2″ drain pan heights. A thumbscrew secures the bracket in place without tools, and the adjustable ratcheting float level lets the installer set the trip point to match the specific pan depth. The magnetic reed switch mechanism is highly reliable with no mechanical contacts to corrode or stick over time.
Wiring is straightforward — connects to either the red or yellow thermostat wire to interrupt the cooling call when the float trips, shutting off the system at the thermostat rather than at the equipment. All Safe-T-Switches are UL 508 and UL 2043 fire-safety rated. ETL listed.
