Description
The Sensus 243-8-IRV-1 1/2 is a commercial-grade gas pressure regulator engineered for precise, reliable downstream pressure control in natural gas and LP gas distribution systems. Featuring a 1.5″ pipe connection and a 1/2″ orifice, this regulator is designed to handle the flow demands of commercial and light industrial gas applications. The factory-installed green/black spring provides a defined outlet pressure range suited to standard service requirements, ensuring consistent delivery pressure under varying load conditions.
Key Features
- 1.5″ (1-1/2″) pipe size for high-flow commercial gas service
- 1/2″ orifice for optimized flow capacity and pressure regulation
- Integral Relief Valve (IRV) design provides built-in overpressure protection
- Green/Black spring configuration for a specified outlet pressure range
- Robust construction engineered for long-term field reliability
- Suitable for natural gas and LP gas distribution applications
- Sensus Gas Division quality — a trusted name in gas metering and regulation
Integral Relief Valve (IRV) Advantage
The built-in integral relief valve eliminates the need for a separate relief device on many installations, simplifying piping design and reducing overall system cost. The IRV automatically vents excess downstream pressure, protecting downstream equipment and helping maintain compliance with applicable gas codes.
Typical Applications
- Commercial gas service regulators
- Industrial gas pressure control stations
- Gas distribution and metering systems
- Downstream pressure regulation in multi-appliance installations
