Description
The Supco SFC150225 is a single-pole, single-throw (SPST) fan cycle switch engineered for precise head pressure control in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Designed to close on pressure rise, this switch activates the condenser fan motor when system pressure climbs to the cut-in set point, and de-energizes it when pressure drops to the cut-out set point — maintaining optimal operating pressures across varying ambient conditions.
Key Specifications
- Model: SFC150225
- Switch Type: SPST (Single-Pole, Single-Throw)
- Action: Close on Pressure Rise
- Cut-Out (Open) Pressure: 150 PSI
- Cut-In (Close) Pressure: 225 PSI
- Brand: Supco
How It Works
The SFC150225 monitors refrigerant head pressure on the high side of the system. When pressure rises to 225 PSI, the switch closes and energizes the condenser fan circuit. When pressure falls to 150 PSI, the switch opens and shuts off the fan. This cycling action prevents head pressure from dropping too low in cold ambient conditions, protecting compressor efficiency and system reliability.
Applications
- Condenser fan cycling on air-cooled condensing units
- Commercial refrigeration systems
