Description
Supco SRL230 Rollout Limit Switch Overview
The Supco SRL230 is a Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST) manual-reset rollout limit switch designed to protect furnaces and heating equipment from the hazards of burner flame rollout. When abnormal combustion causes flames to escape the heat exchanger, this safety switch trips at 230°F, immediately interrupting the burner circuit and preventing potential fire damage or carbon monoxide hazards.
Key Features
- Trip Temperature: 230°F — precisely calibrated for reliable rollout detection
- Manual Reset (M/R) — requires deliberate technician reset, ensuring the root cause is identified before resuming operation
- SPST (Single Pole, Single Throw) switching configuration
- Rollout switch design for furnace burner flame safety protection
- Durable construction suited for demanding HVAC heating applications
- Direct OEM-style replacement for compatible furnace models
How Rollout Switches Work
Rollout switches are critical safety devices mounted near the burner assembly of a furnace. Under normal operation, combustion flames remain contained within the heat exchanger. If a blockage, cracked heat exchanger, or other fault causes flames to roll out beyond the burner box, the rollout switch senses the elevated temperature and opens the circuit. The manual reset feature of the SRL230 ensures a qualified technician must inspect and correct the underlying issue before the system is restarted.
Applications
- Residential and light commercial gas furnaces
- Replacement rollout limit switch for compatible heating systems
- OEM-style service replacement where a 230°F M/R SPST rollout switch is specified
