Description
The Trane DHY1461 is a suction line filter drier engineered to safeguard refrigeration and air conditioning systems from the damaging effects of moisture, acid, and solid contaminants circulating in the refrigerant circuit. Designed with a 7/8″ ODF (Outside Diameter Flare) connection, this drier integrates seamlessly into the suction line of a wide range of residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
Suction line filter driers are a critical line of defense during system servicing, burnout recovery, and new installations. By capturing harmful particles and neutralizing acids before they reach the compressor, the DHY1461 helps extend equipment life and maintain peak system efficiency.
Key Features
- 7/8″ ODF connection for straightforward field installation
- Designed for suction line placement to protect the compressor
- Removes moisture, acid, and particulate contaminants from the refrigerant stream

Why Use a Suction Line Filter Drier?
Moisture and acid contamination in a refrigerant circuit can cause compressor failure, oil breakdown, and system inefficiency. Installing a suction line filter drier — especially after a compressor burnout — captures harmful byproducts before they can damage downstream components. The Trane DHY1461 provides reliable filtration and desiccant action to keep your system clean and dry.
Application
- Residential and light commercial air conditioning systems
- Post-burnout system cleanup and recovery
- New system installations requiring suction line protection
