Description
The Trane SWT3937 is an OEM thermal switch engineered to protect HVAC equipment by monitoring operating temperatures and interrupting the circuit when unsafe conditions arise. Designed for use in Trane systems, this switch opens at 125°F and automatically resets (closes) at 95°F, providing a built-in temperature differential that prevents rapid cycling and ensures stable system operation.
How It Works
The SWT3937 thermal switch acts as a safety device within the control circuit. When the monitored surface or airstream temperature reaches the 125°F open setpoint, the switch breaks the circuit to shut down the associated component. Once temperatures drop back to the 95°F close setpoint, the switch resets and allows normal operation to resume.
Key Features
- Open (trip) temperature: 125°F
- Close (reset) temperature: 95°F
- 30°F differential helps prevent short-cycling
- OEM Trane replacement part — direct fit for compatible Trane equipment
- Designed for reliable, repeatable thermal protection
- Compact switch design for easy installation in tight equipment spaces
Application
The SWT3937 is used in Trane HVAC systems where thermal overtemperature protection is required. It is commonly found in air handlers, fan coil units, and other Trane equipment where monitoring of component or airstream temperatures is critical to safe operation. Always consult your equipment’s service manual to confirm compatibility before installation.
