Description
The Trane THT2540 is an OEM limit switch engineered to protect furnaces and air handlers from overheating conditions. Designed as a direct Trane replacement component, this limit switch monitors supply-air or heat-exchanger temperatures and interrupts the burner circuit when unsafe temperatures are detected, then automatically resets once conditions return to a safe range.
How It Works
The THT2540 is a normally closed, temperature-actuated safety device. When the monitored temperature rises to the open setpoint, the switch opens and shuts down the burner. Once the temperature drops back to the close setpoint, the switch resets and restores normal operation — providing automatic, hands-free protection without requiring manual intervention.
