The Universal Security Instruments 10-Year Battery Photoelectric Smoke Alarm is a sealed-battery, install-and-forget smoke detector sold in a 3-pack for multi-room or multi-unit installations. The CR123A lithium battery is embedded and tamper-resistant — no battery door, no compartment to empty, and no low-battery chirps for the full decade of service life. At end of life, a single alert signals replacement is due rather than the repeated chirping that leads occupants to disable standard alarms.
The photoelectric sensor pairs with Sensing Plus multi-criteria detection to accurately identify both slow-smoldering and fast-flaming fires, reducing nuisance alarm events from cooking or steam while maintaining sensitivity to actual fire conditions. False alarm resistance is built into the detection logic, not just managed with a silence button.
At 3.9″W × 1.4″H × 3.9″D, the low-profile housing installs on ceilings or walls without a large footprint. Non-interconnected single-station units — confirm code requirements for interconnected alarm systems before specifying on jobs that require them.
