Description
York S1-024-35273-000 SPNO Close On Fall Pressure Switch Overview
The York S1-024-35273-000 is an OEM replacement pressure switch engineered for use in York heating systems. Configured as a Single Pole, Normally Open (SPNO) device with a close-on-fall action, this switch monitors negative pressure (draft) levels and closes the circuit when pressure drops to the specified set points of -0.25 and -0.4. It plays a critical safety role in verifying that the inducer blower is creating adequate draft before allowing the furnace ignition sequence to proceed.
Key Features
- OEM York replacement part — ensures proper fit and reliable performance
- Single Pole, Normally Open (SPNO) configuration
- Close-on-fall action: switch closes when pressure drops to set point
- Dual set points: -0.25 and -0.4 (inches W.C.)
- Monitors inducer/draft pressure for safe furnace operation
- Protects against improper venting and blocked flue conditions
- Direct OEM replacement for compatible York furnace models
How It Works
This pressure switch is installed in the inducer assembly circuit of a York furnace. Under normal operation, the inducer motor generates a negative pressure (vacuum) in the heat exchanger and flue system. When that negative pressure reaches the designated set point, the SPNO switch closes, signaling the control board that safe draft conditions exist and allowing the ignition sequence to continue. If adequate draft is not established — due to a blocked flue, failed inducer, or cracked heat exchanger — the switch remains open, locking out ignition and protecting the system and occupants.
Application
- Compatible with select York brand gas furnaces
- Replaces failed or out-of-tolerance OEM draft pressure switches
- Suitable for use by licensed HVAC technicians during routine maintenance or emergency service calls
