Description

The Goodman GRVM97 is a 97% AFUE modulating gas furnace with a variable-speed ECM blower, available in heating inputs from 60,000 to 120,000 BTU/H to match a range of home sizes and cooling tonnages. Unlike single or two-stage furnaces, the self-calibrating modulating gas valve fine-tunes output across a continuous range rather than a small number of fixed steps, so the furnace runs at the lowest firing rate needed to hold the set temperature and steps up smoothly as demand rises — minimizing temperature swings and delivering some of the quietest, most even heat in Goodman’s lineup.

At the core is a heavy-duty aluminized-steel tubular primary heat exchanger paired with a sloped stainless-steel secondary heat exchanger for efficient heat transfer and long-term durability, ignited by a durable Silicon Nitride igniter. All models comply with California’s 40 ng/J low-NOx emissions standard.

This furnace features integrated ComfortBridge™ communicating technology, which relocates system communication and coordination logic from the thermostat into the furnace itself for tighter coordination with a matched outdoor unit; in cooling applications, Auto-Comfort mode scales blower output to cooling demand in stages for better humidity control. Commissioning and diagnostics run through the on-board Bluetooth connection using the CoolCloud™ phone and tablet app, with a self-diagnostic control board, constant memory fault code history, and a dual 7-segment display for fast troubleshooting. Color-coded low-voltage terminals simplify wiring, and the board includes provisions for an electronic air cleaner and 120V or 24V humidifier.

The cabinet supports multi-position installation — upflow, or horizontal left or right — and is certified for direct vent (2-pipe) or non-direct vent (1-pipe) applications, with faster condensate drainage engineered to prevent unit water leakage.
