Description

The Goodman CHPEA is a cased, all-aluminum horizontal “A”-style evaporator coil, available in 2 to 5-ton sizes with multiple cabinet width options at the same tonnage. Its horizontal configuration is built for attic or crawl space installations where vertical clearance is limited, pairing with horizontal or side-discharge air handlers and furnaces.

At the core is a factory-installed Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) for precise refrigerant control in both cooling and heat pump applications, providing auto-controlled superheat suited to inverter-driven and communicating outdoor units. The coil is compatible with Daikin One+ and other Daikin/Goodman communicating equipment, and includes fault recall of the six most recent faults for easier diagnostics. A factory-installed R-32 sensor is designed for the lifespan of the coil, and standardized copper suction tube stub lengths simplify field connections.

The compact 21″ depth eases installation in attic spaces, with a single front access panel for straightforward service, and foil-faced insulation covers the internal casing to reduce cabinet condensation. A rust-resistant, UV-resistant, DecaBDE-free thermoplastic drain pan features a low water-retention design with secondary drain connections, and drain pan rails allow coils to be removed and repositioned with ease. The cabinet has a galvanized, leather grain-embossed finish.
