How Inverted Bucket Traps Work
The inverted bucket mechanism operates on the principle of buoyancy. When steam enters the trap, the inverted bucket floats and closes the discharge valve, preventing steam from escaping. As condensate accumulates and air or non-condensable gases enter, the bucket loses buoyancy and sinks, opening the valve to discharge condensate.
