Description
The Browning AK46X3/4 is the industry go-to for standard fractional horsepower (FHP) applications where a 3/4″ shaft is used. Because it is a finished bore sheave, it eliminates the need for a separate bushing, making it a more cost-effective and compact solution for simple drive setups. Machined from fine-grain cast iron, the AK46X3/4 is statically balanced at the factory to ensure vibration-free performance. It features a precision-machined groove designed to run with 3L, 4L, or A-section belts. The phosphate-coated and painted finish provides high resistance to corrosion, ensuring the setscrew remains adjustable even after years in a humid HVAC environment.
Key Features
- Finished Bore (3/4″): Includes a 3/16″ x 3/32″ keyway and a 5/16-18 setscrew for immediate installation.
- Statically Balanced: Every sheave is balanced to prevent the “wobble” that causes premature bearing failure and noisy operation.
- Grade 35 Cast Iron: Provides higher tensile strength and better wear resistance than the grade 25 iron used in “budget” pulleys.
- Universal Belt Compatibility: Designed to provide a perfect grip for 3L, 4L, A-Section, and AX-Section (Gripnotch) V-belts.
- Compact Type 3 Construction: Features a “spoked” or lightened web design to reduce overhung load on the motor bearings while maintaining structural integrity.
