The Daikin 3MXM24AVJU9 is a 2-ton (24,000 BTU nominal) outdoor heat pump condenser from Daikin’s standard-efficiency MXM multi-zone line, rated to support two to three indoor units from a single outdoor unit — with a combined connected indoor capacity of up to 39,000 BTU, letting you address rooms with different heat loads used at different times.
At the core is a Daikin inverter-driven compressor that continuously adjusts output to match demand, delivering efficient, quiet operation. The system runs on R-32 refrigerant — more efficient than R-410A with a lower global warming potential — and delivers up to 21.0 SEER2, 12.0 EER2, and 10.0 HSPF2 efficiency when matched with compatible indoor wall units (currently, the CTXV and FTXV Standard wall-mounted units are the only compatible indoor types for this outdoor unit). The system operates across a heating range of 5°F to 60°F and a cooling range of 14°F to 115°F.
The drain pan design offers strong drainage to reduce ice buildup in extreme conditions, and the unit is ENERGY STAR Certified. It’s also compatible with the Daikin Cloud Wi-Fi Adaptor for full remote comfort control from a phone or tablet, and each indoor zone operates independently — one room can run at 68°F while another sits at 74°F, all from the same outdoor unit.
Runs on 208/230V single-phase power. Requires two to three compatible Daikin wall-mounted indoor units (sold separately, CTXV/FTXV Standard only), a line set, and drain tubing for installation. Backed by a 12-year limited parts warranty with online registration; installation by a qualified, licensed HVAC technician is required to maintain warranty eligibility.
