The Daikin 3MXT24AVJU9 is a 2-ton (24,000 BTU nominal), 3-zone outdoor heat pump condenser from Daikin’s Aurora Enhanced Capacity, cold-climate line, delivering 24,000 BTU cooling and heating capacity. It supports up to three independently-controlled indoor units from a single outdoor unit, with a combined connected capacity of up to 39,000 BTU — this is the standard-cabinet version of the 3-zone Aurora platform, without the factory-installed drain pan heater found on the 3MXTH24AVJU9.
At the core is a high-efficiency, inverter-driven swing compressor that continuously adjusts output to match demand, delivering up to 19.0 SEER2, 12.5 EER2, and 9.5 HSPF2 efficiency. The system runs on R-32 refrigerant, and Enhanced Capacity engineering delivers strong heating performance at low temperatures along with 100% cooling capacity at 104°F — heating operation extends down to -13°F, while cooling operates from 14°F up to 115°F.
The outdoor cabinet uses anti-corrosion treatment on the heat exchanger for long-term durability, with a specialized drain pan design engineered for improved cold-climate drainage, and the unit is pre-charged for up to 131.6 feet of piping. Convenience features include Priority Room Setting, automatic defrosting, Quick Warming function, Night Quiet Mode, Cool/Heat mode lock, and self-diagnosis with LED indicator lights.
