The Daikin 5MXM48AVJU9 is a 4-ton (48,000 BTU nominal) outdoor heat pump condenser from Daikin’s standard-efficiency MXM multi-zone line, delivering 46,000 BTU cooling and 48,500 BTU heating capacity. It supports up to five independently-controlled indoor units from a single outdoor unit, with a single-fan design that allows for multiple installation locations.
At the core is a high-efficiency inverter-driven swing compressor that continuously adjusts output to match demand, delivering up to 20.0 SEER2, 10.0 EER2, and 9.5 HSPF2 efficiency. The system runs on low-GWP R-32 refrigerant (factory-charged with 6.94 lbs) and operates across a cooling range of 14°F to 115°F and a heating range of 5°F to 60°F.
The outdoor cabinet uses anti-corrosion treatment on the heat exchanger for long-term durability, with a specialized drain pan design for improved drainage, and the unit supports long piping lengths of up to 260 feet total, pre-charged for up to 131.6 feet — useful flexibility when serving five zones spread across a larger home.
