Description
The Fenwal 27121-20-190 (also referred to simply as 27121-20-190F) is a Detect-A-Fire® thermal fire and overheat detector manufactured by Fenwal Controls / Kidde-Fenwal. This rugged, self-resetting heat detector is designed to sense elevated temperatures and close its internal contact when the ambient air reaches 190 °F (88 °C), making it ideal for fire safety, overheat protection, and system shutdown circuits in industrial and commercial environments.
Key Features
- Fixed Temperature Activation: Factory-set to trigger at 190 °F, closing the internal switch when temperature rises to this level to activate alarms or safety shutdowns.
- Detect-A-Fire Technology: Designed for accurate detection of temperature rise — whether slow or rapid — to minimize false triggers and respond properly to hazardous heat conditions.
- Rugged Stainless Steel Construction: Built with a stainless steel shell and hex head mounting for durability and long-lasting performance in demanding industrial environments.
- Normally Open Contact: The device’s contact closes upon reaching the temperature setting, making it suitable for integration into fire alarm panels, release systems, or safety control circuits.
- Self-Resetting: Unlike one-shot fusible heat links, Detect-A-Fire units reset automatically as temperatures fall, reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
