Description
The Goodman AHVE is a 208/230V, multi-position, variable-speed air handler available in 2 to 5-ton sizes, designed to pair with Goodman’s R-32 side-discharge inverter outdoor units. Its multi-position design and compact cabinet fit a range of installation spaces, whether upflow, downflow, or horizontal.
At the core is a variable-speed ECM blower motor that provides constant CFM across a wide range of static pressure conditions, independent of the duct system, for consistent airflow and improved humidity and comfort control. An Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV), inverter-tuned to work with the matched outdoor unit, meters refrigerant precisely for both cooling and heat pump applications, and a 7mm all-aluminum evaporator coil on a coil mounting track allows quick repositioning during installation.
This air handler features integrated communicating ComfortBridge™ technology for tighter coordination with a matched Goodman inverter-driven outdoor unit, with commissioning and diagnostics running through the onboard Bluetooth connection using the CoolCloud™ phone and tablet app. It’s also compatible with Goodman-brand smart thermostats, with a CFM indicator and an adjustable low-CFM setting on the thermostat for efficient fan-only operation. Fault recall of the six most recent faults simplifies diagnostics and service.
The rigid SmartFrame™ cabinet construction keeps air leakage low, and inverter technology in the matched outdoor system allows the overall system to reach its setpoint faster and maintain more consistent comfort than traditional non-inverter systems, with reduced compressor noise.
