Description
The Goodman CAHEA3630C3 is a 3-ton, cased, all-aluminum evaporator coil for upflow or downflow applications, sized to pair with a matched furnace or air handler and outdoor unit of the same tonnage (or a nearby tonnage, depending on the matched system’s specific requirements). Its dual-orientation design gives installers flexibility to fit either upflow or downflow duct and equipment layouts.
At the core is a factory-installed Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) for precise refrigerant control in both cooling and heat pump applications, built for tighter coordination with inverter-driven and communicating outdoor equipment. The coil is compatible with the Daikin One+ smart thermostat and other Daikin communicating equipment, and includes fault recall of the six most recent faults for easier diagnostics. A factory-installed R-32 sensor is designed for the lifespan of the coil, and standardized copper suction tube stub length simplifies field connections.
The compact 21″ depth eases installation in attic spaces, with a single front access panel for straightforward service, and foil-faced insulation covers the internal casing to reduce cabinet condensation. A rust-resistant, DecaBDE-free thermoplastic drain pan features a low water-retention design with secondary drain connections, and drain pan rails allow the coil to be removed and repositioned with ease without compromising structural integrity. The cabinet has a galvanized, leather grain-embossed finish.
Designed, engineered, and assembled in the USA. Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician certified to handle R-32 refrigerant under applicable EPA Section 608 regulations. Backed by a 10-year parts limited warranty when the coil is paired with a compatible R-32 condenser and the system is registered online (registration requirements vary by state).
