Description

The Goodman CAUTA is an uncased, all-aluminum evaporator coil for upflow or downflow applications, available in 1.5 to 5-ton sizes with multiple cabinet width options at the same tonnage. As an uncased coil, it’s designed to be installed inside an existing furnace or air handler cabinet rather than in its own standalone casing — a good fit for replacement jobs where the coil needs to slide into a compatible cabinet already in place.

At the core is a factory-installed thermal expansion valve (TXV) for precise refrigerant metering in cooling applications, paired with an all-aluminum coil design optimized for use with R-32 refrigerant, including R-32-compatible circuits and manifolds. A factory-installed R-32 sensor is designed for the lifespan of the coil, and standardized copper suction tube stub lengths simplify field connections.

Foil-faced insulation covers the internal casing to reduce condensation, and a rust-resistant, DecaBDE-free thermoplastic drain pan with a low water-retention design and secondary drain connections manages condensate reliably.
