The Goodman GLXS5B is a 15.2 SEER2 split system air conditioner condenser available in multiple tonnage sizes to match the cooling load of the installation. Across all sizes, the core technology is identical: a high-efficiency scroll compressor paired with R-32 refrigerant, a low-GWP alternative to R-410A that’s becoming the standard for new Goodman equipment. The condenser coil uses copper tube construction with enhanced aluminum fin design on 1.5–3.0 ton units, maximizing heat transfer efficiency. Units ship fully charged for 15 feet of tubing length and include a factory-installed filter drier, service valves with sweat connections, and easy-to-access gauge ports for streamlined installation. The heavy-gauge galvanized-steel cabinet features a removable grille-style top design compliant with UL 60335-2-40, an Architectural Gray powder-paint finish rated for 500-hour salt-spray resistance, and a steel louvered coil guard. When properly anchored, the cabinet meets 2023 Florida Building Code integrity requirements for hurricane-type winds.
An enclosed contactor with lug connection, ground lug connection, and high-pressure switch come standard across the line. All sizes are AHRI certified and ETL listed, and each condenser requires a matched R-32 indoor coil or air handler to complete the system.
