Description

The Goodman GLXT7C is a 17.2 SEER2 two-stage split system air conditioner available in 2, 3, 4, and 5-ton sizes. Two-stage operation lets the system run at reduced capacity during mild conditions and step up to full output only when demand is highest, improving comfort consistency, dehumidification, and energy use compared to single-stage equipment.

At the core is a Two-Stage Copeland® Ultra-Tech scroll compressor, backed by a quiet two-speed ECM outdoor fan motor. The condenser coil uses a copper tube/enhanced aluminum fin design (5mm on 2.0–3.0 ton) to maximize heat transfer, and the system runs on R-32 refrigerant, fully charged for 15 feet of tubing length.

This air conditioner uses integrated communicating ComfortBridge™ technology, requiring only two low-voltage wires to the outdoor unit in communicating mode, with a color-coded terminal strip also available for non-communicating setup. Commissioning and diagnostics run through the indoor board’s Bluetooth connection using the CoolCloud™ phone and tablet app, backed by Copeland® ComfortAlert™ built-in diagnostics.

The cabinet uses a new Venturi top panel design for improved airflow and reduced noise, with a heavy-duty steel cabinet, baked-on powder-paint finish, a steel louver coil guard with rust-resistant screws, and a high-density foam compressor sound blanket for quiet operation. Factory-installed components include a filter drier, transformer, and high- and low-pressure switches, along with ambient temperature sensors and a ground lug connection. When properly anchored, the unit meets 2023 Florida Building Code requirements for hurricane-type wind integrity.
