Description
The Johnson Controls V47AT-2 is a direct acting, temperature actuated water regulating valve engineered for reliable heating system control in commercial and industrial hydronic applications. Built with a durable cast iron body and a 2-1/2″ ASME flange connection, this valve automatically modulates water flow in response to system temperature changes — no external power source required.
Key Features
- Direct acting, temperature actuated operation — no external power required
- Heating point range: 160°F to 205°F for precise temperature control
- Cast iron body construction for long-lasting durability in demanding environments
- 2-1/2″ ASME flange connection for secure, leak-resistant installation
- 6-foot capillary tube provides flexible sensor placement away from the valve body
- Style 4 sensing bulb: 11/16″ diameter x 10″ long for accurate immersion sensing
- 1/2″ NPT external fitting for easy system integration
How It Works
The V47AT-2 uses a remote sensing bulb connected via a 6-foot capillary tube to detect water temperature. As the sensed temperature rises toward the set point, the valve modulates to regulate flow and maintain system balance. This self-contained, direct acting design eliminates the need for electrical actuators or external control signals, making it ideal for steam-to-water heat exchangers, boiler bypass applications, and other hydronic heating systems.
