Description
Laars Heating Systems 2400-451 Anti Condensing Valve Kit Overview
The Laars Heating Systems 2400-451 Anti Condensing Valve Kit is a purpose-built hydronic heating component designed to protect boilers from the damaging effects of low-temperature return water. By blending hot supply water with cooler return water, this kit maintains return temperatures above the condensation threshold, safeguarding the heat exchanger and extending the operational life of the boiler system.
Key Features
- Designed specifically for use with Laars Heating Systems boilers
- Prevents flue gas condensation caused by low return-water temperatures
- Protects cast iron and other heat exchanger materials from corrosive condensate
- Helps maintain system efficiency and prolongs boiler service life
- Complete kit includes all necessary valve components for installation
- OEM replacement part — ensures proper fit and performance
Why Anti-Condensing Protection Matters
In hydronic heating systems, when return water enters the boiler at temperatures below the flue gas dew point, condensation forms inside the heat exchanger. Over time, this acidic condensate corrodes internal surfaces, degrades efficiency, and shortens equipment life. The Laars 2400-451 Anti Condensing Valve Kit addresses this issue by thermally blending supply and return water to keep return temperatures in a safe operating range — a critical safeguard for non-condensing boiler designs.
Applications
- Residential and light commercial hydronic heating systems
- Replacement or upgrade on existing Laars boiler installations
- Systems with long distribution loops or radiant floor heating where return temperatures may drop significantly
