Description
The Nordyne 632523R is an OEM dual pressure switch designed to monitor and protect combustion integrity in Nordyne-platform furnaces and air handlers. By sensing two distinct pressure setpoints — 0.85″ W.C. and 0.55″ W.C. — this switch verifies that the draft inducer is operating correctly before allowing the ignition sequence to proceed, preventing unsafe operation and potential heat exchanger damage.
How It Works
Dual pressure switches monitor negative pressure (vacuum) generated by the draft inducer blower. If the inducer fails to reach the required pressure differential, the switch remains open, interrupting the control circuit and locking out the burner. The two-setpoint design allows the switch to serve multiple safety functions within a single component, reducing parts count and simplifying service.
Key Features
- Dual setpoints: 0.85″ W.C. and 0.55″ W.C.
- OEM Nordyne replacement part — direct-fit for compatible models
- Monitors draft inducer performance to ensure safe combustion
- Prevents burner ignition if proper pressure differential is not achieved
- Helps protect heat exchanger from damage caused by inadequate venting
- Compact design for straightforward installation in original mounting location
Application
- Compatible with select Nordyne-brand gas furnaces and air handling equipment
- Ideal for service technicians performing OEM-spec repairs and replacements
- Verify compatibility with equipment model number before installation
Why Choose OEM?
Using a genuine Nordyne replacement pressure switch ensures the correct pressure setpoints, connector fit, and tubing port dimensions for your specific equipment. Off-spec aftermarket switches can result in nuisance lockouts or, worse, unsafe operation. Trust the OEM part for reliable, code-compliant service.
