Description
Trane CNT09422 Pressure Switch — 0.15″ WC
The Trane CNT09422 is an OEM pressure switch engineered to monitor and verify proper airflow and draft conditions within Trane heating systems. Set at a precise 0.15″ water column (WC) threshold, this switch plays a critical role in the safe operation of gas furnaces by confirming that the inducer motor is generating adequate negative pressure before allowing ignition to proceed.
Key Features
- OEM Trane replacement pressure switch — direct factory fit
- Setpoint: 0.15″ WC (water column)
- Monitors inducer/draft pressure to protect against unsafe combustion conditions
- Prevents ignition if proper draft pressure is not established
- Designed for reliable, long-service-life performance in residential and light commercial Trane furnace applications
- Helps maintain system efficiency and occupant safety
Application
The CNT09422 pressure switch is a safety control component used in Trane gas furnaces. It senses the negative pressure created by the draft inducer blower and closes (or opens) the circuit at the calibrated 0.15″ WC setpoint, allowing the control board to proceed with the ignition sequence only when safe draft conditions are confirmed. If the switch fails to detect adequate pressure, it interrupts the ignition sequence to prevent unsafe furnace operation.
