The Goodman CAPEA is a cased, all-aluminum “A”-style evaporator coil for upflow or downflow applications, available in 2 to 5-ton sizes with multiple cabinet width options (17.5″, 21″, and 24.5″) to fit different furnace or air handler cabinet widths at the same tonnage. Its all-aluminum construction and advanced coil design improve durability and heat transfer efficiency compared to standard aluminum-fin/copper-tube coils.

At the core is a factory-installed Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) for precise refrigerant metering in both cooling and heat pump applications, designed to pair with inverter-driven and communicating outdoor equipment for tighter system-wide coordination. The coil is compatible with Goodman and Daikin communicating equipment, including compatible smart thermostats, and includes fault recall of the six most recent faults for easier diagnostics.

The cabinet has a galvanized, leather grain-embossed finish, and a UV-resistant drain pan manages condensate. The coil is optimized for use with R-32 refrigerant.

Designed, engineered, and assembled in the USA. AHRI Certified, ETL Listed. Backed by a 10-year parts limited warranty when registered online within 60 days of installation (an unregistered unit carries a standard 5-year warranty); registration requirements vary by state.
